Moving into IT support. Homelab, networking, Windows, and the web.

I’m moving into IT from a hands-on technical background. Six years setting up and running CNC machines, now operating production equipment at AAF International in Trenčín. Diagnosing a broken machine under time pressure turns out to be good practice for diagnosing a broken PC.

I study Applied Informatics at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (part-time, since 2025). Right now I’m preparing for Cisco CCST, with CCNA next. I practise on a homelab at home: one refurbished ThinkCentre running Hyper-V with a small Windows domain.

The practical work lives on it.marianholly.com: support tickets, runbooks, and lab notes (in Slovak). This blog is where I write about the rest: networking, the lab itself, web projects, and how this site is built.
